Mrs Sear and Mrs Poyzer

This year, Year 4 have 3 Reading into Writing texts.  In Autumn, we will be reading The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.  In Spring, we will read The Boy at the Back of the Class. In Summer, we will read How to Train your Dragon.

Our reading book currently is The Last Bear. The children are really enjoying reading this book and their fluency and expression has improved through our new reading lessons.

Within the classroom there are working walls to assist children during independent tasks.  All children are able to use these and they are updated regularly to reflect the work we are doing and assist pupils to succeed.

In Year 4, we understand that learning and progression is paramount, throughout the course of the year we learn and over learn many concepts within a broad and balanced curriculum; please see the overview for a full range of learning opportunities over this term.

In History, the children have been learning about the Romans.  At the end of the unit, the children played a game of pairs to link the vocabulary to the definition.  The children really enjoyed this game and putting their knowledge to the test!
