History
At Aughton Junior Academy, history is valued as a vital subject in equipping pupils with the ability to ask questions, think critically, weigh evidence and develop perspective and judgement. We are committed in delivering a history curriculum which enables pupils to gain coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and the past of the wider world. We believe it is important for our children to gain a sound understanding of the history of our local context and from this we will be looking at Aston Hall and the significant individuals surrounding it. In delivering a rich curriculum, children will develop an understanding of the process of change, the complexity of people’s lives and the diversity of society and relationships. Finally, pupils will be encouraged to understand their own identity within our society.
